Securing the Future
One of Europe's main challenges is to preserve its citizens' fundamental rights and freedoms, while addressing the increased and diversified security threat. The fight against terrorism and organised crime, the protection of the external European borders, the need for preparedness in case of natural disasters and civil crisis management require the use of modern technology prompting citizen concern. By stimulating the cooperation of providers and users of civil security solutions on a European-wide scale, the EU hopes to better contribute to the security of citizens throughout the continent.
