Making the video

A solar panel energy project in Saint-Pierre, in the island of Réunion, was awarded in the 2009 RegioStars Awards, organised by the DG REGIO, in the category of mitigation of climate change. In the awarded project, one power station produces photovoltaic electricity from solar panels installed on three buildings and connected to one transformer. The island of Réunion, which has a tropical climate, aims at energy independence by 2025 with the help of tens of thousands of solar panels around the island.
