About the video
With the aim of presenting the benefits of standardisation, this video contains four thematic reports covering different aspects of standardisation. The first clip is an introduction explaining the importance of standardisation. The three other reports present three success stories of SMEs and their role in making and/or using standards. A conference to celebrate World Standards Day is organised every year by the European Commission Enterprise & Industry DG. This video was shown for the first time during the World Standards Day 2008 Conference.

The company Christof was founded in 1908, initially specialising in dying textiles. Today, this family company has become an industrial laundry service.
