Tunisia, the road to democracy
Video
About the video
March 2011, only a few weeks after President Ben Ali’s departure, and Tunisia is slowly recovering from 25 years of dictatorship.
While the process towards democracy is now rolling forward, one might wonder about the challenges facing Tunisian civil society. What would the outcome of the Jasmine Revolution be, if young Tunisians had not overcome the media’s lack of freedom by turning to communication via social networks?
With a desire to find answers to these and other questions, and driven by the need to be on-the-spot during the protest movement, Tipik dispatched a team of reporters to Tunis to cover the first seminar on democratic transition ever held in the country.
