One year after the European Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, Tipik's audiovisual team explored the opposite side of Europe: the Danube Region. During one month, we traveled along the river in order to learn about four EU-funded projects in the area. From environment protection to archaeology, inland navigation and transport routes, our series depicts some of the main challenges encountered in the region.
Connecting people
For decades, road traffic between Romania and Bulgaria was limited, as there was only one bridge for over more than 400 km of the Danube. But soon this will be history, as the two countries invested in the construction of a new bridge between Calafat and Vidin.
