The time for assessment is now up, as the fifth edition of the European Development Days (EDD) comes to an end.
Each year more than 40 million people around the world die from preventable diseases, because the medicines they need are either too expensive or existing drugs are no longer effective.
This video takes you to the heart of development projects which foster accessibility, quality and use of essential medicines in African, Caribbean, and Pacific Island countries. With the support of the EC/ACP/WHO Partnership on Pharmaceutical Policies, these initiatives aim to save lives and improve population health within poor and disadvantaged communities.
This video was filmed last summer in the Dominican Republic and Tanzania, and was shot entirely using a 5D photo camera.
